Blessed or Stressed: Pt 5 - Day 3

Day 3: Contentment Over Consumption

Reading: 1 Timothy 6:6-10, Philippians 4:11-13

Devotional: Paul learned contentment in prison. Not in prosperity, but in chains. Godliness with contentment is great gain because it frees you from the tyranny of "more." Our culture screams that happiness is one purchase away, but the prodigal discovered that having everything left him with nothing. The love of money—not money itself—becomes a root of evil because it replaces God as our security. Consider what you have: food, clothing, relationships, breath in your lungs. These are gifts. Contentment doesn't mean lacking ambition; it means finding joy in today while trusting God for tomorrow. The richest person isn't who has the most, but who needs the least. Gratitude transforms what we have into enough.

Reflection Question: What "more" are you chasing that's stealing your peace today?
