A Summer To Remember: The Cup of Deliverance

Jul 5, 2026    Daniel Robertson

Join us this morning for worship and The Word! Pastor Daniel is sharing a sermon titled "The Cup of Deliverance" talking about the second cup of passover and the promises of God!

This powerful message invites us to explore the ancient Jewish Passover tradition through the lens of the four cups—each representing a foundational promise God made to the Israelites in Exodus 6. We discover that the Cup of Deliverance, the second promise, addresses something profound: God doesn't just want to free us FROM slavery, He wants to free us from still BELIEVING we are slaves. This distinction is transformative. Many of us accept salvation but continue identifying with our old nature, our past failures, our wounds. The message challenges us to recognize that we are three-part beings—body, soul, and spirit—and that when we're saved, our spirit is made perfect in Christ. The struggle we experience comes from letting our body or soul lead instead of our redeemed spirit. Through practical examples like the hornet's nest illustration, we see that while God defeats our enemies, we must close the doors that let them in. The call is clear: stop confessing 'I'm just a sinner saved by grace' and start declaring the truth—we are new creations, sons and daughters of the King, with victory over sin, healing from wounds, and authority over the enemy. This isn't about pride; it's about walking in the freedom Christ purchased for us.
