Tis The Season: Pt 1 - Day 5

Reading: Luke 2:8-14; Luke 19:10

Devotional: The angel's message to the shepherds echoes through eternity: "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all people." Notice who received this message first—not the religious elite, not the powerful, but humble shepherds working through the night, likely feeling unappreciated and overlooked. God sees you in your lonely places, your difficult seasons, your hidden struggles. Jesus didn't just send a message; He showed up. He came to earth, lived among us, died for us, and rose again—all because He wanted you. You weren't an afterthought; you were the reason. He came for you. And because He came for you, you can live for Him. This Christmas, don't just celebrate that Jesus was born; celebrate that He came to find you and bring you home.

Reflection Question: How does knowing Jesus "showed up" for you personally change how you live today?

Lord Jesus, thank You for being the Light of the World and for calling us to shine Your light. Help us unwrap the gift of joy You've given us. As we celebrate Your birth, prepare our hearts for Your return. May our lives bring glory to You and draw others to Your saving grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
