Day 1: Favored and Called by Name
Reading: Luke 1:26-38
Devotional: Before Mary understood her purpose, God declared she was favored. The angel's greeting wasn't based on her accomplishments but on God's choice. Today, recognize that God has called you by name with a specific purpose. Like Mary, you may not understand everything God is asking of you, but favor isn't about your qualifications—it's about His calling. Mary's response teaches us that surrender precedes understanding. You don't have to figure everything out before you say yes to God. What matters most is recognizing His voice and trusting His plan. Your purpose isn't something you create through striving; it's something you discover through surrendering. God knew you before you were born, and He hasn't changed His mind about what He created you to do.
