Pray First: Pt 1 - Day 5
Day 5: The First Fifteen
Reading: Psalm 5:3; Mark 1:35
Devotional: "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up...and prayed." If the Son of God needed to start His day with the Father, how much more do we? The "First Fifteen" principle is simple but transformative: give God the first fifteen minutes of your day—five minutes in His Word, five minutes in worship, five minutes in prayer. You have fifteen minutes. The question is whether you'll spend them scrolling or surrendering, distracted or devoted. When you pray first, you're inviting God into everything that follows. You're acknowledging that you need His wisdom before you face decisions, His peace before you encounter chaos, His strength before you meet challenges. This isn't about legalism; it's about relationship. Start your day with Him, and watch how differently the rest unfolds.
Reflection: Will you commit to the "First Fifteen" starting tomorrow morning? What needs to change in your routine to make this happen?

Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting us into relationship with You. Forgive us for the times we've treated You as an option rather than our priority. Help us to truly put You first—in our days, our decisions, our resources, and our relationships. Empower us by Your Holy Spirit to be doers of Your Word, not just hearers. As we commit to seeking You first, we trust that You will add everything else we need. May this year be the most significant year of our spiritual lives because You are at the center of everything we do. In Jesus' name, amen.
