Devotional: The truth is uncomfortable but liberating: you were dead in your sins. Dead people can't improve themselves, make better choices, or turn their lives around. This is why grace is so amazing—God found you when you were spiritually lifeless and made you alive in Christ. You didn't earn this; you couldn't have. It was pure gift, undeserved favor lavished upon you while you were still His enemy. This should radically reshape how you view yourself and others. If God showed you mercy when you deserved wrath, how can you withhold mercy from others? Your salvation isn't about your goodness—it never was. It's about His richness in mercy and His delight in saving the unsavable. You are His workmanship, created for good works He prepared beforehand.
