Pray First: Pt 4 - Day 4

Day 4: Knowing God Intimately

Reading: Ephesians 1:16-18; Philippians 3:7-10

Devotional:
Paul's prayer for the church reveals God's deepest desire: that we would truly know Him. The Greek word ginosko means intimate, experiential knowledge—not just facts about God, but deep relationship with God. This is the same word used to describe the intimate union between husband and wife. God doesn't want casual acquaintances; He wants children who know their Father's heart. Jesus warned that many would say "Lord, Lord," but He would reply, "I never knew you." Attending church or knowing theology isn't enough. God wants your heart, your trust, your whole life surrendered to Him. As you pray, don't just talk at God—listen for His voice. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and revelation. True freedom, purpose, and transformation flow from intimacy with the Father.

Reflection: How would you describe your current relationship with God—casual or intimate? What needs to change?
