What John Saw First: Day 1

Day 1: The Door Is Always Open

Reading: Revelation 4:1-2

Devotional: John, exiled and alone on the island of Patmos, looked up and saw a door standing open in heaven. He had not been forgotten. He had not been abandoned. The very first thing God showed him before revealing anything difficult was this: the throne is occupied, and the door is open. Whatever isolation or hardship surrounds you today, that door has not closed. You have full access to the King. You do not have to earn your way in or clean yourself up first. The invitation is already extended. Come up here. He is waiting.

Reflection: In what area of your life have you been acting as though the door to God is closed to you?

Practical Application: Begin each morning this week by pausing before prayer and simply saying aloud, "The door is open, and I have access to the King." Let that truth shape the posture of your heart before you speak a single request.
