Pray First: Pt 1 - Day 3

Day 3: Fasting and the Anointing

Reading: Luke 4:1-14; Acts 10:38

Devotional: Jesus began His ministry not with a sermon but with a season of fasting and prayer. For forty days, He demonstrated that spiritual power flows from spiritual discipline. The same Holy Spirit that anointed Jesus is available to you. Fasting isn't about impressing God or earning favor—it's about removing distractions to make room for more of Him. When you push back from the table, you're declaring that God is more satisfying than physical food. History proves this principle: when Abraham Lincoln called the nation to fast during the Civil War, everything changed. Not because fasting is magic, but because it positions us to receive what God wants to release. What breakthrough are you believing for that requires this level of consecration?

Reflection: What is God calling you to fast from to experience more of His anointing in your life?
