Pray First: Pt 1 - Day 4

Day 4: The Sabbath Rhythm

Reading: Luke 4:16; Mark 1:35

Devotional: Jesus attended synagogue "as was His custom." He also rose early to pray in solitary places. These weren't occasional practices but established rhythms. God designed you to operate on a six-day work cycle with one day of rest—not because He's restrictive, but because He's restorative. Many believers are exhausted because they're trying to do in seven days what God intended for six. The Sabbath principle teaches that God can do more with six days surrendered to Him than seven days controlled by you. Sunday isn't just about checking a church attendance box; it's about establishing a weekly rhythm of worship, rest, and realignment. When you protect this time as holy—set apart—you're trusting God's design over your own hustle.

Reflection: How can you practically establish a Sabbath rhythm that prioritizes rest and worship?
