When Israel crossed the Jordan, God commanded them to build a memorial—not to worship the stones, but to remember His power and tell the next generation. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever in character, but His strategies are endlessly creative. We honor the past without idolizing it. King Hezekiah destroyed the bronze serpent Moses made because it became an object of worship rather than a testimony of deliverance. What memorial in your life has become a monument? Gratitude for yesterday should fuel faith for tomorrow, not anchor you to what was. Today, celebrate your history while pressing toward your future. Let remembrance build faith, not create limitations.
