Pray First: Pt 1 - Day 2

Reading: Exodus 20:1-3; Proverbs 3:9-10

Devotional: God's first commandment reveals His heart: "You shall have no other gods before Me." Notice He doesn't say "no other gods"—He knows we'll have other loves and values. But nothing should come before Him. Abel understood this principle when he brought the firstborn of his flock, while Cain brought "some" fruits in the course of time. God honored Abel's offering because it demonstrated priority, not just participation. When we give God the first of everything—our day, our resources, our decisions—we're declaring He is worthy of our best, not our leftovers. The principle of firstfruits isn't about legalism; it's about relationship. God knows that what we put first reveals what we truly treasure.
