This Changes Everything: The Holy Spirit - Day 4

Reading: Ezekiel 36:24-28 and Ephesians 5:15-20
Devotional: God does not simply want to improve your behavior. He wants to replace your heart of stone with a heart of flesh, put his Spirit within you, and move you from the inside out. This is the difference between behavior modification and heart transformation. Good habits cannot change a heart, but a changed heart will change your habits. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is not a one-time experience reserved for a church service. It is a continual, daily reality available to every believer. As Ephesians makes clear, being filled is not optional or extraordinary. It is the normal, expected life of someone walking with God.
Reflection: In what areas of your life are you still trying to change yourself by willpower rather than surrendering to the Spirit's transforming work?
Practical Application: Pray specifically today, Holy Spirit, change me. Identify one area and surrender it fully to him, trusting that he who began a good work in you will complete it.
