Day 2: The Word You Carry Into the Storm

Day 2: The Word You Carry Into the Storm

Reading: Mark 4:35-41

Devotional: Jesus spoke a clear word to His disciples -- "Let us go to the other side" (Mark 4:35). They heard it, believed it, and acted on it. Yet somewhere between the shore and the deep water, the storm grew louder than the word they had received. This is one of the most honest and relatable moments in all of Scripture. How often do we receive God's word with gladness, only to find our grip loosening the moment pressure arrives? The word we hear in seasons of peace must take root deeply enough to sustain us in seasons of chaos. Faith is not built in the storm; it is revealed there.

Reflection: Think about a promise from God's word that you received during a calm season. Are you still holding onto it now that circumstances have grown difficult?

Application: Identify one Scripture that speaks directly to your current struggle. Commit to meditating on it daily this week -- reading it in the morning, returning to it at midday, and resting in it before you sleep.
