Day 5: Hope That Holds Through Suffering - Unshakable: Real Hope

Reading: Romans 8:18-25

Devotional: Romans 8:18 declares that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in those who belong to God. Real hope is not the absence of pain. It is the unshakable confidence that pain does not have the final word. The same God who runs toward you in your failure also walks with you through your suffering. He does not promise that every storm will be avoided, but he does promise that no storm will be wasted. Your suffering is not a sign that God has forgotten you. It is often the very place where his presence becomes most undeniable.
