Tis The Season: Pt 2 - Day 5

Day 5: From Understanding to Trusting

Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 55:8-9

Devotional: Mary asked "How can this be?" but still said "Let it be." She questioned without questioning God's character. This is the tension of faith—asking honest questions while trusting God's answers, even when they don't make complete sense. God's Word tells us not to lean on our own understanding because His thoughts and ways are higher than ours. Waiting to trust until you understand keeps you stuck. But when you trust first, understanding follows in God's timing. Obedience to God's call brings blessing and satisfaction, even when the path is unclear. Today, surrender the need to figure everything out. Like a backseat driver trying to control the journey, we often tell God where to turn instead of letting Him drive. Trust that He sees the whole route while you only see the next step.

Reflection: What situation requires you to trust God without fully understanding? Can you surrender your need to control the outcome?

Closing Prayer: Lord, teach me to hear Your voice above all others. Give me the courage to surrender what I don't understand and the faith to follow where You lead. Search my heart, reveal my anxious thoughts, and lead me on the path of everlasting life. Like Mary, let me say, "I am Your servant—let it be as You have said." In Jesus' name, Amen.
