A Summer To Remember: The Cup of Deliverance - Day 5

Day 5: Walking in Your New Identity

Reading: Philippians 2:12-13; 2 Corinthians 5:17

Devotional:
You didn't work to earn your salvation, but now that you're saved, you work because of your salvation. God is working in you, giving you both the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. This is the journey from glory to glory—becoming more like Jesus every day. Your spirit is already perfect in Christ, but now you're learning to let that spirit lead your soul and body instead of the other way around. Don't let your emotions or physical desires control you. Let the Holy Spirit, who lives in you, guide your thoughts and actions. This isn't about perfection through effort; it's about transformation through relationship. As you spend time with Jesus, you naturally become more like Him. That's the abundant, fulfilled life He came to give you.

Reflection: What is one practical way you can let your spirit (connected to God's Spirit) lead you today instead of your emotions or physical desires?
Closing Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your four precious promises that lead us from salvation to fulfillment. Help us to not just be saved, but to walk in the freedom, healing, and purpose You've provided. Give us courage to close doors to the enemy, wisdom to open our hearts to trusted community, and faith to believe we are truly new creations in Christ. Transform us from glory to glory until we look more like Jesus every day. In His mighty name, Amen.
