This Changes Everything: Prosperity - Day 5

Devotional:

One of the greatest dangers of God's blessing is forgetting where it came from. Scripture warns that as provision increases, the temptation to trust in that provision rather than in the Provider grows with it. God does not bless you so you can graduate from needing him. He blesses you so the world can see what it looks like to need him deeply and be met by him completely. Stay dependent. Stay grateful. Stay surrendered. The moment you begin to trust in what God has given more than in God himself, you have traded the river for a puddle. Keep your roots in the stream, and you will never stop bearing fruit.

Reflection: Has a season of blessing ever caused you to pray less, trust less, or give less? What does that reveal about where your true hope was placed?

Practical Application: Write down three specific ways God has provided for you in the past year. Spend time in thanksgiving, and then ask him what he wants to do through those blessings for someone else.
