This Changes Everything: The Holy Spirit - Day 2

Reading: John 14:15-27

Devotional: Jesus did not leave his followers without help. At the most critical moment of his earthly ministry, the night before the cross, he spent his final hours telling the disciples about the Holy Spirit. He called him a teacher. He called him a reminder. This means the Holy Spirit is not passive inside you. He is actively working to reveal truth, illuminate scripture, and bring to your memory exactly what you need exactly when you need it. No seminary degree is required to receive his instruction. What is required is a willing and humble heart that says, Lord, teach me.

Reflection: Is there an area of your life where you have been relying on your own understanding rather than the Holy Spirit's guidance?

Practical Application: Before reading your Bible today, pause and pray, asking the Holy Spirit to be your teacher. Then read slowly and notice what stirs in your heart.
