Day 3: God Has Called You by Name and for a Purpose: Alien Encounters

Day 3: God Has Called You by Name and for a Purpose

Reading: Isaiah 6:8-9; Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 2:8-10

Devotional:
After the encounter and after the cleansing came the call. God asked, "Whom shall I send?" And Isaiah, the man who moments earlier had declared himself undone and unworthy, responded with three of the most powerful words in Scripture: "Here I am." He did not say, "Send someone more qualified." He did not say, "Give me time to get my life together first." He simply made himself available. That is all God has ever asked of anyone. Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God's masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works that God prepared in advance for us to do. Your purpose was not an afterthought. It was designed before you were born. The enemy wants to define you by your past — your failures, your shame, your worst moments. But your heavenly Father defines you by your purpose. He sees not only who you are but who you are becoming under his hand. The question God is asking you today is the same one he asked Isaiah. He is not asking because he does not know the answer. He is asking because he wants you to step forward. He is looking for someone willing to say, "Here I am." Your availability is more important to God than your ability.

Reflection Questions:
  • Have you ever felt disqualified from being used by God because of something in your past? How does Isaiah's story speak to that feeling?
  • What do you believe God has uniquely equipped you to do for his kingdom?
  • What is one practical step you could take this week to make yourself more available to God?

Practical Application: Consider signing up for a spiritual gifts assessment or a growth track at your local church. Spend time in prayer asking God specifically, "What do you want me to do next?" Write down whatever comes to mind and hold it before him in the days ahead.
