Devotional:
Religion tries to change behavior from the outside in. God changes hearts from the inside out. Jesus did not say, "Stop sinning so you can love me." He said, "Love me, and you will keep my commands." The order matters enormously. Willpower alone cannot sustain holiness. But love can. When you fall deeper in love with Jesus -- when you recall His patience, His sacrifice, His relentless pursuit of you -- sin begins to lose its appeal. You do not abandon what you love for what you merely tolerate. Draw close to Jesus today. Let love do what discipline alone never could.

• Do you approach your faith more as a set of rules to follow or as a relationship to cultivate?
• When did you last simply spend time reflecting on how much Jesus loves you?

Practical Application: Set aside ten minutes today not to ask God for anything, but simply to thank Him for who He is and what He has done for you. Let gratitude be the entire focus of your prayer time.
