Day 5: Honoring His Presence - Unshakable: Real Power

Day 5: Honoring His Presence

Reading: Romans 8:12-13, Ephesians 4:30, and 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Devotional: The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. He will not force His way into spaces where He is not welcome, and He can be grieved by the choices we make and the company we keep. Honoring His presence means more than welcoming Him on Sunday morning — it means refusing to smother His work in your life through the busyness, compromise, and distraction that so easily crowd Him out. You have a debt you could not pay, and Christ paid it. That grace is not a license to live carelessly. It is the greatest motivation to live purposefully, fully surrendered to the One whose power raised the dead and who now lives in you.

Reflection Questions:
  • Are there habits, relationships, or environments in your life that are quenching the Holy Spirit's work?
  • What would it look like to honor His presence not just in church but in every space you occupy this week?

Practical Application: Identify one specific thing you have been doing that you know grieves the Holy Spirit. Make a concrete plan today — not just a feeling or a wish — for how you will address it. Share that plan with a trusted believer who can pray with you and hold you accountable.
